Our Wild Witch is made using the best possible Shiraz fruit of the Barossa Valley vintage – and only if the quality is truly magical. This means that even in the best vintages, only very small parcels of fruit have what it takes to make ‘Wild Witch’. This intensely flavoured black fruit doesn’t come from vineyards with resident broom riding vignerons whizzing between their rows, but it does come from vineyards which are equally magical – venerable, mostly dry grown and ultra-low yielding. The potion pressed and fermented from this fruit spends up to two years in ‘cauldrons’ of the finest French oak where it develops its power and dimension. Then, when its hue is crimson–purple, its perfume of spicy dark fruits, and its palate long, intense and silky - is ready to ‘cast its spell’! A truly magical Barossa Valley Shiraz.
