Kellermeister was established by Ralph Jones in 1976 and named in honour of his mother, May Keller, a German émigré born in Stuttgart in 1899.
Rather than competing with the large-scale commercial wineries of the day, Ralph Jones' vision was to ‘play the curtain raiser’ in the Barossa Valley, handcrafting individual small batch wines of true character.
Today, as a five star rated winery and one of the first and longest surviving boutique wineries in Australia, Kellermeister continues to ‘play the curtain raiser’ in the Barossa Valley, leaving the longer, less intimate act to the big boys.
