2010 Eiswein
Unlike the Canadians, we cannot freeze our grapes on the vine, so we use modern technology to freeze the Traminer fruit after extended ripening time on the vine. Once sufficiently frozen, we press the whole bunches ensuring we get sensationally concentrated juice and flavour. The juice is fermented to 9% alcohol, but still retains a high sugar level. This sweetness is balanced by the natural acidity of the fruit and gives the wine a long and sensuous finish. The nose smells of freshly squeezed grape juice and honey. We reccomend you drink it now while its youthful freshness in on full display, however with good acid it will age well.
